Does anyone know of any free to low cost dental services in the Atlantra GA area? Chemotherapy did a job on my mouth and I don't have dental insurance to take care of all my mouth issues.

They will probably have to be pulled and either implants or dentures take their place.

Here is a FEW things that God has done for me, and my family.
1) Paid outstanding bills that I couldn’t pay through church I attended regularly.
2) Healed me of cancer, and other disease’s instant healing, gradual healing, and a word of knowledge heal
3) God delivered me from Satanism
4) God delivered me from drugs. (supernaturally with no side effects from marijuana, cocaine, hash, crack, etc..)
5) God opened up jobs when I had none.
6) God saved me from suicidal tendencies. ( In INTESIVE CARE UNIT FROM DRUG OVERDOSE, AND NOT KNOWING IF I WOULD LIVE OR DIE)
7) God prevented us from being homeless by opening doors for temporary shelter. ( One time we were about to become homeless. We applied for shelter through state. They told us a 1 year waiting list, but God opened the door with in a week.)
8)God gave me hope to live.
9) God made arrangements one year when I lost my job around Christmas. (Someone walked up to my wife at church, and gave my wife a jar with angels on it. She removed the cork, and found $1000.00 cash in it.)
10) God made arrangements for a new car ( That God arranged, and we didn’t have to pay for it.)
11)God arranged money to come in the mail with no return address. ( out of state)
12) God made arrangements to find cash laying on the ground.
That is just scratching the surface to what God has done.
God is NO respecter of persons. What he doe’s for one. He will do for another.

While undergoing chemotheraphy treatments for breast cancer, substantial damage was done to my teeth. I am in need of extensive dental work because of it.

Being disabled and on a fixed income, I simply cannot afford the hefty cost of repairing my teeth. This issue has caused me to become extremely self-conscious when around others.

After all that I have persevered through, I should be smiling all the time; but I don't because my teeth have become weak and discolorated. Not only does chemo kill the bad cells in your body...it kills all cells...good or bad. Being able to get my teeth repaired would mean the world to me. I never ask anyone for anything so making this request is very difficult for me. Any assistance given small or large would be greatly appreciated.

First let me thank you for taking the time to read this.
I am not going to sugar coat anything which will probably scare off half the readers, but I refuse to be misleading in anyway.
Somehow the rug was pulled from under my feet. I lost my job and became homeless for the first time. I was introduced to a sadness I thought never existed. Sleeping under a bush was so terrifying that I started to do drugs to deal with it. At that point I resigned myself to giving up. My pain was so great that I cried everyday to the point where my tears would dry up and I would continue to cry like a dry-heave. I fantasized about suicide everyday.
Last year I was diagnoseed with renal kidney cancer. While I was homeless I thought that all of my despair will probably manifest into cancer so when I got the news I wasn't surprised at all.
My Mother whom is 80 and suffering from Alzheimer's disease asked me to try and better my life before she passes on. From that point on I have been trying to reverse whatever happened to me. I managed to get enough clarity to get a dog/friend. Her name is Zowie and in some ways I believe she saved my life. She gave me someone to connect to. she gave me someone to love and hold. She has healed me in sooooo many ways especially the depression.
Today I have given up the idea of (giving up) and now I want to live !!!
All my life I have been told that I am a very smart guy and I am starting to finally believe that. I want to go on to do great things. I would love to eliminate some of the unnecessary suffering in this world among many other things.
All my life I have been quite poor and I am totally fine with that.
I had horrible luck with my teeth when I was younger and as a result I am virtually toothless. It is so bad that I can barely eat. Eating which is a huge pleasure for humans has been totally taken away from me. I have to either blend my food or buy protein smoothies (which are really expensive) Arrrrrg!

 in response to seekinghelp2012...   how do you eat an elephant? one bite at a time. the answer is a snowball effect with a livable budget. key word livable. you cannot live on romen noodles and staying home. but you can eliminate that debt on your own con-solidation places are just that. even if they are ligit and mean well the power needs to lye on you. i have done this too. live and learn trust me snow ball that 500.oo a month in ten months you would have taken care of 5,000 of that debt, but at the rate it will go faster than that. because your other debts will be eliminated entirely. write down all of you debts even if there is an over due library book. 1 dollars. to largest debt home mortguage. pay only the minimum payments on all of them and focus the remaining money on the smallest or smallest 2-3 debts say a furniture bill or small credit card. and then pour the savings into next months debts and repeat. i got a easy to under stand from a chapter in the book called "Getting control: the complete guide to getting yourself out of horrible debt by troy flora available on amazon.com good luck! any qestions just ask me. i did it and you can too.

El rio is horrible, I would never send anyone to them. They told me I had four cavities, which I didnt believe. I decided to just go back to the dentist I had seen as a child and was glad I did. I had no cavities, and the fees were exactly the same as El Rio. This was four years ago and I still have no cavities. Please dont go to el rio, research costs of other dental offices and you will see that they are not cheaper

Need to find a dentist that will take a low payment plan. Grew up financialy poor,but parents that done all they could. So the neglect from childhood has reeked havoc on my teeth

Since i was little my immigrant parents did not know better so they never got on me on my oral hygine, so now that iam an adult i am paying for it. I have been in desperate need of dental work since i was 18 years old, but i could never afford it. Now that i am just 27 years old my mouth looks like a 80 year old person. Since apperance is everything i have been denied work to provied for my two children .my daughter that is 4 yrs old and my 4 month old son. My husband had been disable since i was pregnant with my daughter 5 year ago and now has two herniated disk and other issued due to that injury. So were are bearly making our bills ass it is. I went to have a esstimat done at western dental free places that i could find. they told me for me to get my smile somewhat presentable it was going to cost me almost $4,000 dollars i dont have.and dont even get me started in the dental work my husband has to have too, that we really, really cant afford. I am stong beliver in jesus and i do belive that there is someone that can help me and my family out. So i will be sitting here and pray that some one can help my family in any way........i say these things in the name of jesus christ , Amen..

The hospital just give her pain pills and something for infection. But they won't perform surgery and its so needed. And ok about those departments. I didn't know they help with dental. Thank you

call the health dept. or social services for where she can get help, even domestic help places for women....or go the nearest CITY HOSPITAL!

My sister was in a abusive relationship it was one where he made her eat a lot of sugar and would not let her take care of her teeth or skin. Now they are all rotten and broken into her gums. She is scared and ashamed and she does not know what to do because she does not have enough money for surgery. There are a lot of people here who need help so I'm not terribly hopeful, but here goes. I am mentally ill. I have type II bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and obsessive compulsive disorder which partially manifests as hoarding disorder. I have hoarded objects, not animals. I have 5 cats, which some may think is "a lot of cats" but it does not qualify as animal hoarding. I am working on the hoarding problem but it is an uphill battle. Sometimes I do better than others.
In spite of my mental illness, I do work. I make well above minimum wage, as I make $17 an hour. I work 32 hours a week. This is about all I can do without it making me extremely depressed or physically sick. I also have fibromyalgia and sciatica as well as asthma and mild hypertension.
I fall into a marginalized category. Because I make the salary I do, I do not qualify for food stamps. However, once taxes and insurance are taken out of my pay, I only take home about $1400 a month. I am in an upside down mortgage in a mobile home and my credit is damaged. Thus refinancing seems to be out of the question--no-one will touch me. Between mortgage and lot rent, I pay $1100 a month.
My mother has helped me out for several years with utility bills. I do not eat much except at work. I get things like cheese whiz and crackers and canned fruit juice or jello that does not need refrigeration when I am at home as I do not have a working refrigerator.
Last year my mobile home incurred very bad damage when the water heater started leaking and I didn't know it until my son realized that the carpet in the hall was wet. The walls and floors of 3 rooms had to be removed. Overall the repairs cost over $20,000. My mother helped out with this. But she is stuck with my late father's medical bills and really can't help any more. I am ashamed to ask her for help anyway.
I do not have working plumbing except in the bathroom sink. Fortunately I am able to shower and wash my clothes at work. I do not have much in the way of furniture but I'm not so worried about that.
I still owe $43,000 on this horrible 15% mortgage, which I have had for 10 years. The original mortgage was $45,000. You can see that I am mostly paying interest. I am in a no-win situation.
I just got through paying off a bunch of payday loans that I had to take out when I was doing a month unpaid internship to obtain my LPN license last April. I also maxed out my credit cards. I still owe about $1200 in credit card bills. This destroyed my credit, which I had worked very hard to build back up to a passable score.
I have medical issues which I have not been able to afford to take care of and I have not been to a dentist in 6 years.
I feel very depressed most of the time and think about suicide every day. I am not a lazy person but I have had a lot of barriers to my success in my life.
It seems that if I had nothing at all there would be some resources from me. But since I am working and have this mobile home I fall into the Twilight Zone where no-one can or will help me.

Wow Derrick:)I read ur story and cant believe the ordeals u have gone thru,I truly ave alot of compassion for you,and many times I wonder why "me","us".I tell u I hit a real bad spot,and I ended up hoding a sign,asking for anukind of assistance,I stood crying,as people with expexivw clothes cars would drive by,but the people whom were on the poor side were right there to help me,even offering to take me get groceries with thier lasr bit of food stamps,which i couldnt,as I felt too bad.I made 23$ that day,with probably 100plus cars,going by.just sad.I feel so many people take advantage of people,and most people are heartless towards people in need:)I will pray for u my friend:)I wish I coiuld do more:)Take care,Jill

 in response to seekinghelp2012...   Consolidating debts is rarely the best way to go in trying to reduce your debt levels. Best thing to do is to develope a budget and a plan and stick to it.

Does anyone know of a place to consolidate debts for persons with bad credit. I would even consider peer to peer lending if there are any wealthy individuals willing to help a single, graduate student, with a full time job. I've suffered some financial misfortunes but I'm trying to get back on track. I need about $50,000 and I can comfortably pay be $450 - $550 per month. Please help in any way that you can and it will be greatly appreciated.

Hello all, I do hope you had a great New Year. I feel blessed to see this year. I have Lupus now going on 5 years, had back surgery 11 years ago cause of disc deteiorating, gout and now my teeth are breaking off at the gums. So I did pay $55.00 to a dentist to tell me that its going to cost $3155.00. I also have an enlarged patellar which has to be grounded down before I can recieve dentures. I understand this day and time its tough and money doesn't come easy. I have been disabled since 2001. I do pray alot and I know God's going to help me get through this.  in response to help4pain...   Good advice from eutawangel. You can go to any emergency room and they will take a look, put you on antibiotic and pain meds. Tell them if you have no money for meds. They might can give you samples or advice on where to go for reduce or free meds. You really must get on antibiotics. Tooth abcesses are life threatening.

When in dire straights to pull through till we can get medical help, for mouth infections like ulcers or infected inflammations of gums, even tooth absesses, I do several home remedies that do give relief. In 2 ounces of cold water, mix in 2 ounces hydrogen peroxide and 1 teaspoon salt. Swish 3-4 times a day for at least 30 seconds each time. This does help.

Also for pain... besides taking tylenol or ibuprofen, if you don't have any Anbesol or something like it to apply to the tooth, then break an aspirin into a small enough piece and place it directly on tooth. I've packed tooth with a tiny piece of cotton either soaked in Anbesol or on top of aspirin to hold it in place. Use heat on jaw to ease pain too. Listerine mouth washes and swishing around infected mouth infections and absesses helps too.

But, most of all.. those are temporary measures. You must get to an emergency room for antibiotics and pain meds. They can not and will not deny you care, especially if it is a county or state regional hospital. But, you have to ask for help paying for the meds... all options. Tell them you have no money for meds if that is the case. Been there, done that many times.

I am 62, disabled with rheumatoid arthritis, on Medicare, no dental insurance and little extra money. My teeth too have fallen apart over the last ten years. So I really do feel what you are going through.

 in response to help4pain...   You may very well be eligible for Medical Assistance or some govt funding that covers medical care for free or sliding scale. Your State sponsored Agency, or center on aging, etc should be able to steer you to that help. Its usually at places that give food stams, etc. You may even be eligible for senior reduced cost housing. I will pray now for jaw pain & other stuff. If you need help with tracking down assistance, email me & leave city & state & best way to contact & I'll use Web to research a bit esp your State. Also, if infected, swishing with Hydrogen Peroxide may help alot & also, go to an emergency room & when they give medicine explain that you have no money for medicine & can they make sure you get it & give your age. Hi. I am at the end of my rope. I have spent the last 4days I'm pain. My face is swollen and I can't wear my partial because of the constant pain. I'm not working, just picking up odd jobs here and there to survive. I have always taken care if my teeth but once I got these partials the rest of my teeth are going bad or loose...I can't afford the dentist but know I probably need antibiotics.....can someone help or advise me. I have no medical or dental and just turned 58.

Hello! I am actually in the dental profession as a hygienist; although I am now on disability from spinal surgeries.Still, I know quite a lot about this profession! I've come across people in the same situation you have described many, many times during my 25 years in dentistry. Unfortunately, it is too rare that we see dentists take a weekend to do free dental work in their communities but it DOES happen! Here are my suggestions: Call your local dental society chapter, or find them on the American Dental Association website. Ask if anyone can tell you if any of he dentists do free weekend work programs. If you find one, it will be on a first come, first serve basis so get there EARLY! G. Next, one of the BEST secrets in the dental field are the schools. Dental Students and even hygienists need REAL patients to work on. There IS a small fee but VERY MINIMAL. ie. it would probably cost $25 or so to get your teeth cleaned at a hygiene school! (it cost $5 back when I was in school!) At dental schools, you can get root canals, crowns, ANYTHING you need! The cost depends on how much work you need to have done BUT again, much less than you would pay in a private practice. The downside? You may be in the chair for a while due to students are slower, of course, and must get their work checked before they move on. In other words, say you go in for a crown (a cap) the student has to prep the tooth, when he/she is done, she has an instructor come over to check to make sure it is done right...then they move on. This is part of what you have to sacrifice for getting the work done so cheaply. But it is EXCELLENT work! Remember, the students are graded on their performance - how good their work is. So ou will get a FINE looking crown for half the price, at least! Those are my recommendations. IF your friend is really serious about wanting to het her teeth restored, she will do ANHTHING; sitting in a chair is not a lot to ask, if you ask ME!
